The Root Cause of a Donkey’s Ass

The muddy donkey is annoyed with me because I disrespect him. Well, what little respect I have of him now has vanished, for I now pity him.

How? Is the respect thing an effect of an effect, i.e. it is not the root cause.

Well, let’s put what I learnt in coaching:

Why is he annoyed with me?

Because he thinks I don’t respect him.

Why does he need my respect?

Because he feels threatened by my abilities.

Why does he feel threatened?

Because he loses face infront of outsiders

Why does he lose face?

Because he cannot answer questions relating to the business.

Why can’t he answer?

Because he does not have the info/tools to.

Why does he not have the info?

Because I do not tell him everything.

Why don’t I tell him everything?

Because he has illogical and immature thinking and has previously responded in such a way, and my time and energy is spent absolving his stupidity and puts me behind schedule.

Why don’t I have time to indulge him?

Because my projects are always running out of time.

Why are my projects out of time?

Because they start late.

Why do they start late?

Because I have no direction or strategy to complement.

Why do I have no direction?

Because I am waiting for Toasta to plan something, and I complement.

SO WHAT’S THE FUCKING ROOT CAUSE? I start the projects too late resulting in me not giving out clear instructions and time for feedback.

THE SOLUTION: Get direction from Toasta (or from myself) early.

Update: I realised that it is also important to know how to phrase the questions, to ask the right questions. If I had asked “why do I need to respect him” instead, I wouldn’t have gotten my eurekas.
